David C. Griffin, partner, is board certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in the area of Personal Injury Trial Law and board certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy in Civil Trial Advocacy. As a personal injury lawyer, David has handled a wide variety of cases ranging from motor vehicle accidents to complex oil field accidents.
A graduate of Calhoun High School in Port Lavaca, David earned a bachelor's degree in Political Science from Austin College. He attended law school at St. Mary's University in San Antonio, where he was a staff writer on the St. Mary's Law Journal and a member of the academic legal society, Phi Delta Phi. He graduated from law school in 1987 and was accepted to the Texas State Bar that same year.
Following his graduation in 1987, David and his brother, John, formed the partnership of Griffin & Griffin. Marek, Griffin & Knaupp was formed in 1989. David's general trial practice, representing both plaintiffs and defendants, covers a multi-county region in the Coastal Bend area.
David is a member of the American Bar Association, State Bar of Texas, Texas Trial Lawyers Association, American Association of Justice and the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He has been named as a Texas Super Lawyer from 2011 through the present. He is also licensed in the state of Colorado.
